There are free maps available at the entrance to the Locke Summit neighborhood. Hike along the existing roads, explore many old logging roads throughout the mountain, or hike to the incredible views up at the top of the subdivision at Picnic Rock.

Sunday River Outdoor Center
The Sunday River Outdoor Center is a great complement to your Alpine adventures. Many kilometers of cross-country and snowshoeing trails wind through the woods around Newry—with easier terrain closest to the Outdoor Center’s main facility. Whether you find your happy place by skiing with friends to one of several trailside picnic sites or by going for miles without seeing another soul, the Sunday River Outdoor Center offers an easy and convenient way to keep exploring this area’s winter wonderland.

Bethel Nordic Ski Center at the Bethel Inn
The Bethel Nordic Ski Center, located at The Bethel Inn Resort, is one of the oldest cross-country ski centers in Maine. We offer 35 kilometers of classic and skate groomed trails in a beautiful New England setting, as well as 5 miles of snowshoe trails. Ice skating too!

Carter's XC Ski Center and Shop
Carter's XC ski shop in Oxford is fully stocked with all levels of quality ski touring, racing, and back country equipment and snowshoes, as well as Swix and Sporthill apparel. Both Oxford and Bethel offer full rental and demo equipment to best fit any skier. Both centers offer trained and experienced staff to help outfit skiers with the best quality package at a low price. Also, at both sites, we offer lessons in touring or skate-skiing for individuals or groups. Come cross country ski with us.

New England Dog Sledding and Horseback Riding
New England Dogsledding is located on the Maine and New Hampshire border of the White Mountain National Forest. It is home to our racing and recreational kennel of beautiful, well cared for, very friendly, athletic Alaskan Husky Sled Dogs. We have been offering high quality, fun, and educational dog sledding, mushing, and sled dog tours in Bethel, Maine / Sunday River Ski Resort for the past 14 years.

The Sunday River Sugaring House is one of the resort’s long-term visions of “Living in Nature’s Cathedral.” The Sunday River Sugaring House offers tours, demonstrations, as well as free candy and syrup samples! Want to bring some home? Sunday River resort-made syrup is for sale at Sunday River Sports, the Mountain Grocer and both Grand Resort Hotel shops. The Sunday River Sugaring House is located at the bottom of the Sundance trail at the base of South Ridge.

The Sunday River Sugaring House will open for the sugaring season soon. Stay tuned for details on Sunday River's participating in Maine Maple Sunday scheduled for March 25, 2012.

Sunday River Zipline Tours
Sunday River's Zipline Tours fly you through the Maine woods as you cross back and forth over a deep ravine and steam bed just off the ski trails of the South Ridge area in one of the resort's most beautiful spots. The tour features a series of six lines ranging from 100 to 300 feet in length and speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. Mountain Biking/Chondula Rides
Sunday River Bike Park
The Sunday River Mountain Bike Park offers 15 trails and 20 miles of lift-serviced riding with varying difficulty levels and terrain ranging from open work roads to single track. The Chondola on South Ridge runs to the top of North Peak to serve the mountain bike trail network. It operates for lift and trail access Friday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm through. No trail access is allowed Monday to Thursday.

Sunday River's Scenic Lift Rides
Sunday River offers scenic rides on the Chondola to the top of North Peak allowing visitors to view the Mahoosuc Mountains up close during the summer and fall foliage season. Visible from the summit are Sunday River's Aurora Peak and Jordan Bowl along with Goose Eye and Old Speck Mountain, which is the third highest peak in Maine with an elevation of 4,170 feet.

Bethel Inn 18 Hole Championship Golf Course
Originally built in 1913, our course remained nine holes of little recognition until 1988 when it was redesigned and expanded to an 18 hole championship layout by the renowned architect, Geoffrey Cornish.
Today our 6,663 yard, par 72 course takes maximum advantage of the mountain vistas and natural beauty of the area. Large well trapped greens, tree-lined fairways and five tee positions make play challenging for golfers of every ability.

The Mountain Explorer operates days and evenings between Bethel and Sunday River in the winter season, with convenient stops at major establishments, retailers and restaurants at the resort, along the access road and around Bethel. This service is free and the schedule can be found at the above link. The bus stops at the River Bend condos across the street from Locke Summit Drive.

The Sudbury Inn Fine Dining
Fine dining at its best, the Sudbury Inn offers a wide selection of dinner choices prepared by Executive Chef Peter Bodwell and his staff. From Sudbury Classics such as Roasted Duckling and Broiled Seafood Sampler to Rack of Lamb, Osso Bucco, Chicken Marsala, and of course, fresh Maine Lobster, the Sudbury Inn offers something for everyone in a casual yet elegant setting.

Suds Pub
Lunch and dinner and one of the area's most popular apres destinations, Suds Pub offers a great pub menu, live entertainment three nights each week, and Western Maine's largest selection of draft beers. Hoot Night, open mic night -- a long-standing tradition -- is every Thursday night. Hosted by Denny Breau (amazing in his own right), Hoot Night starts at 8:30pm.
